<p>Vehicles parked over Thorndon Quay (outside the Lambton Station) ready to be used to assist Napier earthquake refugees arriving by train. A "Relief Car" sign sits in the front window of each vehicle.</p> <p>Many of the cars were volunteered for use by business owners and members of the Wellington Automobile Club and were used to transport arrivals from the railway station to the Red Cross office in Dixon Street, and then on their temporary accommodation arrangements.</p>
