Cuba Street at Manners Street

Looking south down Cuba Street at the busy intersection with Manners Street. A traffic conductor stands in the centre directing cars and pedestrians.

This photograph was taken following the establishment of the store Vance Vivian in 1924 but prior to the refurbishment of Te Aro House (centre-right, with tower) in 1928, during which the building became the Burlington Arcade.
