In the centre are the sports fields that would later become the site of the Centennial Exhibition, with Rongotai Aerodrome just beyond. The date of 1938 is estimated from the buildings at Rongotai Aerodrome - the new hangar (visible here) was built c. 1937, though the de Havilland Factory is yet to be built, which was constructed in 1939.
Some streets are being excavated in the distance for the development of Strathmore Park.
