Photograph from an excerpt of the Weekly News, 17th October 1910. It shows men operating a steam shovel at the Miramar Cutting in order to widen it. Spoil was then used for the early reclamation of Evans Bay.

This print was copied from an image lent to us by the Auckland Institute and Museum in 1987.
