A poster bill advertising the sale by auction of 'lots' which have been subdivided from a larger plot of land (part Section 12) in central Johnsonville in January 1898. What is shown as Porirua Road was to become Johnsonville Road and the first (horizontal) section of Aurora Road was later renamed Arthur Carman Street. Burgess Street is now cut into two sections by the motorway (State Highway 1).
