Walking monkeys in Hall Street, Newtown

An animal trainer exercising monkeys at the top of Hall Street in Newtown. This road led to the rear entrance to the Wellington Show Buildings and related field areas which were regularly used by visiting circuses. An early (undated) Ans Westra photograph likely taken in the early 1960s.
