Aftermath of a fire in Mein Street, 1906

People gathered in Mein Street after a fire that destroyed four homes, leaving only the brick chimneys. A firefighter can be seen further up the street with a hose.

The single-storey villas were situated at 43, 45, 47 and 49 Mein Street. The site is now part of Wellington Regional Hospital.
