Lewisham Hospital opened in Florence Street in 1929, later changing its name to Calvary Hospital in 1953. The original brick building is now part of Wakefield Hospital.

This photograph originated from a Calvary Hospital photo album lent to Wellington City Libraries in 1977 for the purposes of copying.
