Premier House following renovations made in 1873 for Sir Julius Vogel when he became the 8th premier of New Zealand.
The property had been purchased as an official residence of the Prime Minister in 1865 and remained used as such until it was converted into a children's dental clinic by the first Labour Government in 1937. It was further renovated and returned back to its original purpose in 1990.
A note in pencil on the reverse of the image credits Herbert Deveril as the photographer, though this is unconfirmed.
