Taxi stand at the railway station

"Taxi, Sir!" - A familiar sight at Thorndon Station. - At almost any hour of the day or night a line of taxis may be seen outside the Thorndon Railway Station at Wellington. At the Capital City, several new taxi services had recently been established, which have materially increased the popularity of this form of travelling.

The photograph was published on the 14th of July 1926 and shows vehicles parked along Thorndon Quay outside Lambton Station / Thorndon Station.
