Map of the City of Wellington [1899]

A map showing the street layout and major features of the City of Wellington (i.e. the area under the control of the Wellington City Council) in 1889. First determined by the settlement of the area by the New Zealand Company in 1840, the area shown remained the municipal boundaries of Wellington City until its first significant expansion took place with the amalgamation of the Melrose Borough in 1903.
