Map of Wellington and Suburbs [c. 1950]

Issued in conjunction with the UBD (Universal Business Directories Ltd) directory which was published annually. Though undated, it appears to have been printed in the immediate post-war period, c. 1947. 

Tram routes (printed as thick red lines) show the electrified network at its largest size in its 60 year history. In February 1949 the first route closures occurred when the Wadestown line, Molesworth Street and Tinakori Road south of the Bowen Street intersection were all decommissioned. The route to Oriental Bay closed the following year.
