A locally produced flyer calling for a public meeting regarding Transmission Gully proposals (1989). This early scheme had a planned route that featured a northern entrance at MacKays Crossing and southern entrance at Takapu Road near Tawa.
Construction on Transmission Gully began in 2014 with the road finally opening in 2022. Aspects of the route were altered including moving the southern entrance towards Linden. By this point the Kāpiti Expressway had also been built, allowing traffic to flow freely from one road to another.
