About this Image

Description

133 Tinakori Road (known as 'Lednam') shortly before being demolished. This house was formerly 75 Tinakori Road before renumbering of the entire street took place during 1908 which became official in early 1909. This house was lived in by the Beauchamp family of Katherine Mansfield for a short period and is described in her story The Garden Party. It is also where she was living at the time she wrote her first published story, His Little Friend.
