Produced as a textbook for secondary school geography and history students, this volume contains two short works by different authors describing the geology and history of Wellington. Advances in the study of geology and more recent interpretations of history means that some of the information contained within it might be considered questionable by readers today. As such, this book should be viewed in the historic context in which it was written.
