The Karori Library photographed in the late 1930s. The library was established by the community before coming under the control of the Karori Borough Council which then passed to the control of Wellington City Council following Karori's amalgamation into Wellington City in 1920. This building which was constructed c. 1902 was replaced with a new library constructed in 1969 which in turn was replaced in 2005.
