First Aid Drill

A Central Library E.P.S first-aid drill. The E.P.S (Emergency Precaution Scheme) was a war-time precursor to Civil Defence and able-bodied WCC staff were generally expected to become involved. Shown are Alison Craig (later Schneider?), Ngaire Roberts (later Archer), Sylvia Hart (later Boynton ?), Rosalie Sinclair, Iris Reeves, Pat Harkness, possibly Mary Fisher. Seated is Ms E. Scholfield. Photographed on the roof of the 'old' (1940) Wellington Central Public Library (later to become the City Art Gallery in 1993).
