TitlePicturesque rambles round Wellington : many attractive walks in and about New Zealand's Capital CityCollectionTourism & Visitor Guides to WellingtonPublisherNational Magazines LtdDate Published[c. 1936]Place of publicationWellingtonDescription
This early example of a set of guided walks around Wellington was published by National Magazines Ltd, a book and magazine publishing company which was closely associated with The Dominion newspaper. The individual walks were written by a number of different authors (possibly drawn from Dominion staff) but as was the common practice in newspapers at the time, only the writer's initials or their nom de plume have been printed. Though is it undated, the photographs and and text offer several clues; the Dominion Museum and Art Gallery are "new" and 2YA (today RNZ National) is transmitting from Mt Victoria (rather than from Titahi Bay). This indicates that it was probably printed in (or very close to) 1936.
