Wellington and Hutt Valley Expands

Lavishly illustrated with images depicting a 'new' and 'modern' vision of Wellington and the Hutt Valley, this publication (possibly one of a series) promotes the capital as a forward-looking city of the future. Though there were barely a handful of modern office buildings in the city at the time (Lambton Quay was still dominated by Victorian and Edwardian era buildings) the image given is very much one of progressive development and planning. Many of the advertisments are for local companies involved in construction, the design and development of new building systems and interior fit-outs.
