Feedlines from aerial arrays at the Makara Radio receiving station

Makara Radio was established at Quartz Hill (Makara) by the New Zealand Post Office in 1944 as a shortwave receiving station. The station was closed in 1996 and later became the site of the Project West Wind wind farm established by Meridian Energy in 2007.
