Opening day at the Karori Pool

The first race of the races held to ceremonially open the Karori Pool (aka the Karori Baths) on Saturday 21st November 1936. The Mayor of Wellington Mr. T. C. A. (Thomas Charles Atkinson) Hislop is acting as starter. 

This swimming pool closed in 2000 and was replaced with a new covered facility which opened in October 2001.
