The Māori Hall was the centerpiece of the former Dominion Museum / National Museum of NZ then located at Mt Cook (later to become Te Papa). This image was photographed as part of a Department of Education commission for the book Holiday in the Capital. Though this photograph wasn't used, a similar image from the same sequence which was published can be seen here.
