A bill advertising the sale of 159 residential housing lots in one of the first subdivisions to take place in the suburb of Hataitai. These lots were advertised for sale shortly before the Melrose Borough (of which Hataitai was a part) was dissolved and joined Wellington City. Interest in the area increased following the announcement of the construction of the tram tunnel (today the Mt Victoria bus tunnel) which was to provide easy access into Wellington after it opened in 1907.
