The definitive work about the history of 'Homewood', one of New Zealand's oldest surviving 'estates' from the colonial period. This book was written by Beryl Smedley (née Harley-Brown), the Wellington-born wife of the-then British High Commissioner to New Zealand, Sir Harold Smedley (1920-2004). The couple and their children resided at Homewood in Karori from 1976 to 1980.
