The Wellington Club, 80 - 88 The Terrace

Constructed in the late 1870s and demolished c. 1970 after the rear of the section owned by the Wellington Club was compulsorily acquired under the Public Works Act for the construction of the Wellington Urban Motorway. It was replaced by new club buildings designed by Roger Walker located at the front of the section. This in turn was demolished in 1986 for the construction of the club's current building. Further information about the early history of the club can be found here.
